Trying to get back into the swing of preschool. They have been there 5 times now. The first 2 days were bad. The worker that I was told had experience had done pretty much nothing but complain about them. They are having difficulty with transition from one activity to another. If someone has experience with autism, they are supposed to know how to help a child transition from one activity to another. If the day is not good, she hides when I come get the kids.
Today our normal worker and the other worker were away and there were two new people there. The one with Nate came up to me and told me what a little sweetheart he was. I assumed at first she was confused. But no, he had a good day. Didn't get to talk to the other person, she apparently spent more time with Josh. Will have to hear from the teacher/owner.
Strangely, since the boys have started preschool again, they have improved significantly in their intervention therapy. Kim (our angel worker) showed me Josh's sheets. Went from needing full-prompting on stuff to completely doing it himself!!! I think it helps that they are also pushing him by expecting he can do something and making him do it. Kim says he may be protesting, but he is still doing the work, and doing it right!
Nate only protested once yesterday in therapy. And it was more of a yelp. Almost not counting it.
Tomorrow Heather, Cindy and I are doing a road trip down to Ikea and Old Navy. Should be a fun time. Really looking forward to it.
